Stopped in on my way home...Had not been there for a few months. Sure glad I did - it was early in the evening and not much of a crowd. But the best part of it was Georgia! She was amazing...If you get the chance to see and meet her you will know why. What a sweetie! Willing to talk to you and actually show you some respect. She was well worth the $$$
Granite city has very good food and I have many favorites. However, recently they have raised their prices and I think they are way over priced now. I always end up with way too much food because of their hudge portions. I would recommend reducing portion sizes to a normal size rather than portions that are way to much in order to keep the prices more reasonable. I actually previously worked for Granite City for a couple of years and they are very clean and organized and it was one of my favorite places. On the other hand, the high prices are keeping me from going there!
One of my favorite places in Des Moines. Excellent food, selection and service. Very inexpensive, but I would go just as often if they raised the prices 50%, it‘s that good.
I recommend the spring rolls, bun, and number 108. It is hard to imagine what it is like by reading the menu, but I love it.
The staff is very helpfull if you want suggestions. They will gladly customize the dishes per your request.
Word of caution: they do NOT bring your check, you go to the cashier to pay and they have the check there. First timers are put off guard by that.

Simply fantastic! The soups are amazing and the sandwich bread is so tasty!
