Terriable service, asked for no french fries with the sandwich, was told that was not possible, so asked the waitress to tell the kitchen to keep the french fries and add a side salad, was brought a $5 salad - lettuce and 1 cucumber slice, was brought the wrong sandwich, asked for the correct one, the other three in my party ate their meals and still no sandwich. Asked them to cancel the order. Was brought the bill with no break down of the charges, paid for it and left. Called the following day to ask for breakdown of charges, talked with Randy and was yelled at and called a liar when I complained that it took over 45 minutes and never got the correct sandwich, was told that he does not want customers like me in his resturant. Apparently he thinks he does not need to provide service of any kind especially good service. No problem there are plenty of good places to eat in Altoona, if you want a good meal go to Claxton‘s or Uncle Bucks at Bass Pro.

Terrible service. One person in our party was brought the wrong food. By the time the correct food was cooked, we were done eating. The waitress asurred my friend that she wouldn‘t have to pay for the order since the cook messed up the order. Then the waitress came back out and said "if I bring you this food, you will have to pay for it". So my friend left without eating, and without any food.
My steak was awful. It was so fatty, and so tough I couldn‘t eat it. I will NEVER go back to this place again!

Excellent quality and attention to detail. Courtious and extremely efficient. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and our fried shrimp was the best that we have ever eaten! Best blue cheese dressing in the world! A little crowded, but well worth the wait. Save room for the desserts!

the ownership acts as if you are doing them a favor by eating at their restaurant. never used to be that way, too bad for them and customers.

Have been eating steaks at the Big Steer for over 20 years. Travel all over the US and it is still one of my favorites. Great food and great service!

Our steaks were burnt and the service was awful. We wont be back!

Absolutely the best shrimp and au gratin potatoes in the world.
