Very very good breakfast food! The food is quite heavy, so it‘s not really an everyday place, but it is definitely a great spot to indulge. Shakes are delicious, as are the biscuits and gravy, pancakes...actually everything I have had is.

The food here is awsome, and the staff is very friendly. This place is a Des Moines institution and a must try. My favorites are the Maytag Burger and Rueben for lunch or dinner and everything for breakfast! Everything I have tried here is excellent. The atmosphere is so fun!

Food is excellent and varied, breakfast, lunch and dinner, with veggie options and fish. Friendly bartenders, just a few barstools. Desserts to die for, especially the cake shake. Kids menu with games, crayons, and prizes and candy at the end. Restaurant is large yet intimate. Outdoor dining in screened area. Across the street from the Drake Neighborhood Farmer‘s Market on Wednesdays in the summer where they hand out coupons for the diner. Frequently a waiting line so plan accordingly.

Amazing! I cant believe I had never been here after living in Des Moines for 18 years. The food was excellent (I went for breakfast) and the service was great! Friendly and fun! I will return many times!!
