Iowa Beef Steak House makes a very good steak. Their long islands are also very good. They deserve a try from you.

I‘ve been to some of the best Steak Houses in the country - Morton‘s, Manny‘s, Ruth Chris, Murray‘s, Capital Grill - and this place is damn good in comparison. Nothing fancy here...good steak and a nice salad bar. Get the T-Bone...it‘s the best of what they offer since I tried everyones steak...and I know steak! You can cook your own or have them do it. No need to get dressed up. The bartender, Lorraine, was great! She made a nice Stoli Rocks with Olives. I was there with 5 buddies from MN and we all had a 4 star plus experience. The "more than a pretty face" waitress, Emily, was great and even sat down and joined us in the bar while we drank and played some Holdem‘ Poker. I‘ll never visit Des Moines with out eating there again! Thanks for a great evening!
